Yo!

YoYo's are my latest obsession....but I don't want to applique them on teeshirts or purses....I want a full coverlet! Of course.

....and,um, did you know it appears you need a mere 24 12" squares to make a twin-size quilt?

And guess how many of these midgies equal one 12" square? that's right...about FORTY-NINE.

In the words of Miss Mikayla, reporting on an episode of "Whatever, Martha" in which she made a yo-yo quilt - that will take "a WHILE." .

No joke.

(I KNEW I should have bought the EXTRA LARGE yo-yo maker!)

Sunday Shopping

HO!HO!HO! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

And, Oh what fun it is to shop for a dress for Miss Mikayla!

Our "Black Friday" shopping trip ended up being postponed 'til today...which was just as well...no crowds. First stop...Nordstrom's at King of Prussia Mall....(UGG boots for Miss Mikayla for Christmas...shhhhh!! Don't tell!)

....then Lilly Pulitzer's for a party dress try-on!

How much cuter does this girl look in this apron than I do? She could wear it as a SKIRT!

I am insisting she donn it while we scrapbook her dance pages and our new project - "Mikayla's shopping bag book" - a little something we came up with to pay homage to her love for shopping and put her "shopping bag collection" to good use.

(Mikayla came up with the idea to spell out her name using letters cut from her favorite stores' shopping bags. We will make a scrapper out of her yet!)
